- 16 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil and oregano for seasoning

- In a bowl, mix the ricotta with eggs, salt, pepper, and herbs until smooth.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti with the marinara sauce.
- In a baking dish, start with a ladle of sauce at the bottom. Layer half of the ziti mixture, half of the ricotta mixture, and half of the mozzarella. Repeat the layers and finish with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.

Notes
Consider adding sautéed mushrooms or vegetables for extra flavor. Letting the dish rest before serving helps the layers set.
