Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until deep golden and nutty, about 5-7 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and brown sugar. Mix in the warm browned butter.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and cornstarch; gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chunks.
  6. Shape the dough into a log, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the chilled log into ¼-inch rounds and place on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on the pan for a few minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
