- 1 cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until deep golden and nutty, about 5-7 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and brown sugar. Mix in the warm browned butter.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and cornstarch; gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chunks.
- Shape the dough into a log, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the chilled log into ¼-inch rounds and place on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on the pan for a few minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
