Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice apples into wedges; toss with lemon juice.
  2. In a cast-iron skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add sugars, stirring until smooth and amber.
  3. Arrange apple slices in the caramel; cook for about 10 minutes, flipping occasionally.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, and stir gently.
  5. Cover apples with puff pastry, tucking edges into the skillet.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a plate.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
