Description
A delightful dessert featuring layers of silky chocolate mousse and fresh bananas between flaky puff pastry.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 8 ounces dark chocolate
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3–4 ripe bananas
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Caramel sauce (optional), for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick, cut into rectangles, and prick with a fork. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
- In a heavy saucepan, heat 1 cup heavy cream until simmering. Stir in 8 ounces dark chocolate until smooth. Cool slightly.
- Whip the remaining cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form and fold into the chocolate mixture.
- Slice the bananas into thin rounds.
- Assemble by layering puff pastry, chocolate mousse, banana slices, and repeating. Finish with a layer of chocolate mousse and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Drizzle with caramel sauce and garnish as desired.
Notes
Use fresh bananas for the best texture, and don’t overbake the puff pastry.
