Description

A delightful dessert featuring layers of silky chocolate mousse and fresh bananas between flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 34 ripe bananas
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Caramel sauce (optional), for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick, cut into rectangles, and prick with a fork. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, heat 1 cup heavy cream until simmering. Stir in 8 ounces dark chocolate until smooth. Cool slightly.
  3. Whip the remaining cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form and fold into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Slice the bananas into thin rounds.
  5. Assemble by layering puff pastry, chocolate mousse, banana slices, and repeating. Finish with a layer of chocolate mousse and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Drizzle with caramel sauce and garnish as desired.

Notes

Use fresh bananas for the best texture, and don’t overbake the puff pastry.
