Description

Delightful chocolate cups filled with luscious caramel, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz dark or milk chocolate
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • Optional: crushed nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • Optional: flavored chocolates (peppermint bark)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Line a mini muffin tray with paper liners. Spoon melted chocolate into each liner to create a shell and chill for about 15 minutes until firm.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, butter, and vanilla extract over medium heat. Stir constantly for 5-10 minutes until thickened and golden.
  4. Remove chocolate shells from the fridge and spoon caramel into each shell, filling three-quarters full.
  5. Melt remaining chocolate and spoon a layer on top to seal the caramel. Chill until set.
  6. For garnish, sprinkle sea salt or crushed peppermint before the chocolate sets. Serve on a platter.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for best results. Allow each layer to cool to maintain clean edges.
