  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk, warm
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit until frothy.
  2. In a larger bowl, mix flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add melted butter, yeast mixture, and eggs, then knead until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. While the dough rises, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the cream cheese mixture and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from the edge and slice into equal parts. Place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Let the rolls rise again until puffed, about 30-45 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk, or serve plain.
