Ingredients

  • 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sautéed
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives or parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. Sauté mushrooms and any other vegetables until soft and fragrant.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants and vegetables, pressing down gently.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the egg is set.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for better texture. You can also customize with other vegetables or meats.
