- 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup mushrooms, sautéed
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh chives or parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Sauté mushrooms and any other vegetables until soft and fragrant.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissants and vegetables, pressing down gently.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the egg is set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use day-old croissants for better texture. You can also customize with other vegetables or meats.
