- 1 cup raw pecans
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Once melted, add in the sugar and stir until combined.
- Toss in the pecans and stir well, ensuring each nut gets coated with the buttery mixture.
- Continue stirring for about 5-7 minutes until the pecans turn golden brown, being careful not to burn them!
- Sprinkle in the vanilla and salt, stirring once more to blend.
- Immediately transfer the candied pecans onto a sheet of parchment paper to cool.
- Once cooled, break them apart if they’ve clumped together, and store them in an airtight container.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg when stirring in the sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
