Description

A flavorful and tender chicken dish marinated in creamy Greek yogurt and aromatic herbs, perfect for grilling or roasting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until blended.
  2. Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring it is thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill or oven to 350°F.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill for 6-7 minutes on each side until internal temperature reaches 165°F, or roast on a lined baking sheet for about 25-30 minutes.
  5. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve with a salad or grilled vegetables, adding tzatziki or feta cheese if desired.

Notes

For a similar tenderizing effect, you can substitute Greek yogurt with buttermilk. Don’t skip marination time for the best results.
