  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Combine warm milk and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Let it sit until bubbly. Add melted butter, 1/4 cup sugar, eggs, and salt. Mix until combined. Gradually add flour, kneading until soft. Cover and let rise for about an hour.
  2. Make the Filling: Mix together 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Spread softened butter on rolled-out dough and sprinkle filling mixture generously. Roll tightly and cut into pieces.
  3. Second Rise: Place cut rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  4. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Prepare the Icing: Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
