Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh peeled and deveined shrimp
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Fresh cilantro or green onions, for garnish
- Juice of 1 lime
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook undisturbed for 2 minutes until they turn pink. Flip each shrimp and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Pour in the soy sauce and drizzle honey or sprinkle brown sugar over the shrimp. Toss to coat and continue cooking for another minute until caramelized.
- Remove from heat, squeeze lime juice over the shrimp, and garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions.
- Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider marinating the shrimp before cooking. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure a nice sear.
