Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: Whipped cream, chocolate sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, stirring until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the peanut butter until you achieve a marbled effect.
  6. Gently stir in the chocolate chips, saving a few for topping.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, smoothing it into an even layer.
  8. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  10. Allow the cake to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing into it.
  11. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or extra drizzle of peanut butter or chocolate sauce if desired.

Notes

For gluten-free version, use almond or coconut flour. Brown sugar can replace granulated sugar for a hint of caramel flavor.
