Description

A rich and nostalgic treat that captures the essence of hot chocolate in a fudgy delight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or high-quality chocolate bars
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar (or brown sugar for depth)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prep your pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper and grease lightly with butter.
  2. Melt the chocolate: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate, butter, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly until melted and smooth.
  3. Add cocoa and vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Pour into the pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Chill: Cool at room temperature for about an hour, then refrigerate for at least two hours until set.
  6. Slice and serve: Lift the fudge out using parchment overhang and slice into squares.
  7. Store properly: Store leftover fudge in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut oil for butter. You can also add crushed nuts or use white chocolate for a twist.
