- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar (or brown sugar for depth)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prep your pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper and grease lightly with butter.
- Melt the chocolate: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate, butter, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly until melted and smooth.
- Add cocoa and vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Pour into the pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Chill: Cool at room temperature for about an hour, then refrigerate for at least two hours until set.
- Slice and serve: Lift the fudge out using parchment overhang and slice into squares.
- Store properly: Store leftover fudge in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut oil for butter. You can also add crushed nuts or use white chocolate for a twist.
