- 3 cups Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: nuts (pecans, almonds, cashews), chocolate chips, or M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the chosen Chex varieties together.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and salt. Bring to a gentle boil for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the melted toffee over the Chex mixture, mixing gently to coat.
- Spread the mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet before storing in an airtight container.
