- 8 slices thick-cut bacon
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp bourbon
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 7-10 minutes. Remove and drain on a paper towel, reserving 1 tablespoon of bacon grease.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet with the reserved bacon fat and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, sautéed garlic, maple syrup, and bourbon; blend until well combined and creamy.
- Fold in sliced green onions, reserving some for garnish.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes, garnish with reserved green onions, and serve warm with crackers, baguettes, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
Taste as you go and adjust seasoning and sweetness based on your preferences. Save some bacon and green onions for garnish for presentation.
