Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Blend in the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the fresh blueberries gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Optionally, dust with a tablespoon of sugar.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
