Homemade Pasta with vibrant Pesto Sauce, combining fresh basil, garlic, and Parmesan for a delightful flavor experience.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts (or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces pasta of your choice

Instructions

  1. Wash and pat dry the basil leaves.
  2. In a food processor, combine basil, garlic, and nuts. Pulse until finely chopped.
  3. While processing, slowly stream in olive oil until smooth.
  4. Add grated Parmesan and lemon juice, pulse again, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente, reserving a cup of pasta water.
  6. Drain the pasta and return to the pot. Stir in pesto sauce, using reserved pasta water to adjust consistency.
  7. Toss to coat and serve immediately, garnishing with additional Parmesan or nuts.

Notes

Feel free to swap out nuts or greens according to your preference. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
