Description
A whimsical holiday appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry trees filled with creamy burrata and topped with a sweet-tart cranberry glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 8 oz burrata cheese
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the cranberry glaze by cooking fresh cranberries, sugar, and balsamic vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.
- Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8-inch thickness and cut into tree shapes.
- Place the pastry on the baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Once baked, cool slightly and fill with burrata, drizzle cranberry glaze over the top, and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
- Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
To prevent the puff pastry from getting soggy, add the burrata and glaze just before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, reheating in the oven.
