Description

A whimsical holiday appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry trees filled with creamy burrata and topped with a sweet-tart cranberry glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 8 oz burrata cheese
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the cranberry glaze by cooking fresh cranberries, sugar, and balsamic vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8-inch thickness and cut into tree shapes.
  4. Place the pastry on the baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Once baked, cool slightly and fill with burrata, drizzle cranberry glaze over the top, and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
  6. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

To prevent the puff pastry from getting soggy, add the burrata and glaze just before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, reheating in the oven.
