- 1/4 cup sesame seeds (white and/or black)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (or sesame oil)
- Juice of 1 lemon or lime
- Optional: Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Marinade the salmon in this mixture for about 15-30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sprinkle sesame seeds evenly across a plate.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and press gently into the sesame seeds, coating both sides.
- Place the salmon in the skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Sear for about 4-5 minutes without moving.
- Carefully flip the salmon and sear for an additional 3-4 minutes until it is opaque and flaky.
- Drizzle lemon or lime juice over the top just before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions or extra sesame seeds if desired.
